April post

This month what I learned from security is you have competent and people and you have incompetent people. For example working as a security officer I rely much on the front desk agents to pass down information of any events occurring. It is my job to ensure those in wanted guest come again. Take for example a guest who does not obey the rules of the hotel because he did not obey the rules of the hotel, it Is my job to ensure he or she does not come back again at least for the night. But when information is not passed down, just like that can easily come in still tell without anyone knowing.  

There are some times when the front desk will do things that there not supposed to which makes our jobs as security officers tougher than they should be. And when I mean by that is that sometime it will checking people without authorizing a stay from the information log. When that occurs you could have guessed getting mad asking for a refund, And the front desk agents can't do anything about it because they are not either in the system or they're not registered guests in the booking  list. sometimes we get to Tour guest and the Front Desk agent doesn't plan ahead for housekeeping or maintenance to prepare for breakfast. so usually it would be my duty  to the prayer breakfast for these tour guess that stay here because there's no one taking care of these guest. 

I know when I do with people that are not reliable for their job and then it is my job to report any issues I deal with to the manager or the owner of the company sometimes. Usually an owner or manager would talk to the person who is not completing the task or perhaps even give them a warning. However we recently had some new owners come to the hotel, and they do not know what pacifically happens here on the properties. So they are more fair to the people who do not know what you're doing. But at the same Time  makes our job a little more challenge.

Even though these are challenges that I face a security officer. I see them as a great opportunity of experience to know ahead that I will be doing with these people in the future. Also that in the event these issues occur I know well enough to step up my game. I'm not complaining or calling out the employees I work with, I'm just saying that working with if you have a job just do it or ask for ask. I know that this would better serve their workplace and committee they are dealing with
